Mayah was rescued during a police raid on a drug house in Georgia. She was taken in by the LifeLine Animal Project shelter where they instantly fell in love with her sweet personality. She is a senior dog with a lot of love to give, but the staff at LifeLine later learned that Mayah had a special trick that was both quirky and adorable. They quickly found out that Mayah had actually reinvented “the sit.”
When Mayah sits down, instead of sitting like any other dog would, she sits upright like a person. It seems unusual for a dog, but Mayah seems perfectly comfortable in that odd position.
As soon as the shelter discovered Mayah’s hidden talent, they knew they had to share it with the world. On their Facebook, they posted an adorable video of Mayah’s trick on their Facebook in hopes to get her more attention. They have shared other adorable photos of her sitting as well.
“We were amazed when we discovered what she could do!” said Kaitlyn Garrett from the shelter. “We have all fallen in love with her silly way of sitting.”
Her video has already received almost 50,000 views so far! For Mayah, this position is just a simple way to relax, but for everyone else, it is the most adorable sitting position in the world! She quickly gained popularity on the shelter’s page in no time.
In Search of a Forever Home
Despite becoming social media famous, Mayah is still in search of a forever home. Lots of people have been interested in meeting her, but she is still up for adoption at the moment. She needs a family that will give her the love she deserves.
Mayah is about 9 years old, and in her foster home, she has gotten along well with other dogs. She loves meeting new people and snuggling up with those that she’s close to. Plus, she always goes everywhere looking happy as can be.
The shelter continues to share information about Mayah as they get to know her better. She even got to attend the Atlanta Pride Parade with the staff. She wore a festive bandana and she had a great time. Even though it was an exciting event, Mayah behaved herself and made friends with everyone she met.
She’s currently in a loving foster home while she waits for someone to adopt her. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting her, please contact LifeLine Animal Project so that you can meet her! She is a sweet and happy girl that just needs a loving place to call home.
