A portion of every purchase you make from iHeartDogs.com is donated to Greater Good Charities. They’re an incredible group of charity partners who help people and pets. It’s because of customers like you that make their mission possible.

Abel’s original owners took one look at him and immediately rejected him because he was born blind. But thankfully, there was a rescue who was eager to offer him a loving place to live.

Able

After Abel was born without eyes, his original owner was no longer interested in keeping him. The poor sweet puppy was sentenced to staying in their backyard, and then, after a while, they took him to animal control to be euthanized.

But luckily, he didn’t die that day. Instead, he made his way into the loving care of Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation.

The dedicated group of animal lovers takes in homeless or abandoned animals and offers those not considered “placeable” a permanent place of refuge.

Abel is one of the animals they were happy to welcome into their sanctuary program. He may have been born without eyes, but he has a ton of personality. He is the king of his domain and rules the couch, the car, or wherever he happens to be. His personality is huge, and he lives up to his name. He knows he is “able” to do anything.

Abel will live out his life at Horse and Hound in the company of other animals being cared for by their dedicated volunteers.

Able Relaxing

Just because a dog is blind doesn’t mean they are sentenced to anything less than a fantastic life. They can rely on their other senses and have an excellent quality of life, especially if they have loving caretakers. Lucky for Abel, he has exactly that.

Thanks to the GOODS program, rescueGOODS program that rescue groups with limited budgets can provide pups like Abel with nutritious food. After all, such a big personality does need to be powered by the proper fuel.

Abel was also provided a Seresto Flea Collar from the program; because of that, he’s far more comfortable and parasite-free.

It’s both the GOODS program and YOU that he has to thank for a full tummy and top-notch flea protection. Because a portion of every purchase made from iHeartDogs.com goes to fund the GOODS program, you played a part in providing food for Abel and his fellow furry family members in the sanctuary program. So, thank you.
