Bonded Dogs Separated When One Gets Adopted, But Months Later They End Up In The Same Home

| November 19, 2015

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a happy ending. It’s something that makes me smile, and if you’re anything like me, then you’ll really love this one. These two dogs, Abby and Riley, were just strays picked up off the streets, but when they got to the shelter they weren’t going to let anything keep them apart. Abby shocked everyone when she would routinely scale her kennel, escaping so that she could just be next to her best friend, Riley. It amazed the volunteers the bond that these two dogs shared, and it was a bittersweet moment as they watched Riley get adopted, the more social one of the two.

As the months went by Abby became more social, and then it was her turn to find her forever home. She saw her adoption day come, but sadly just a few short months later she was brought back into the Adams County Pet Rescue.

Coincidentally, this was around the same time that Riley’s family decided it was time to add another dog to their bunch, a friend for Riley to play with and another pup for them to love. Is it fate? Call it destiny? Either way, it’s just awesome!! Take a look:

Isn’t that just amazing!! After a life of struggle and hardship, these two dogs are going to live out the rest of their happy days right by each other’s side:)
