Greater Good Charities helps lots of animals in need, especially through its GOODS Program, which gives healthy food and other supplies to shelters and rescues. Many rescue dogs now have better lives thanks to these donations.

Hairy Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue in Monroe, MI is one of the rescues that receives donations from the GOODS Program. Many of the Huskies and Husky mixes at this rescue were found on the streets, including a beautiful dog named Lilly. Before the rescue took her in, Lilly never slept in a warm bed or had a healthy meal.

Now, thanks to the donations and support the rescue has received, Lilly is learning what the life of a normal dog is like. She’s living in a home environment and getting plenty to eat every day. She’s slowly learning that she no longer has to worry about when she’ll get another meal. It’s a big adjustment for a former stray, but she seems as happy as can be.

Saving Lots of Huskies!

Lilly is just one of the many Huskies that this rescue has saved and found a home for. Mufasa, Loki, and Tonkatana are a few other dogs who were saved by the rescue. With donations from the GOODS Program, it’s easier for the rescue to take in dogs because staff members don’t have to worry as much about the cost of food. Instead, they can focus their funds on other areas of care, such as medical needs.

“[The GOODS Program] has allowed us to free up money for us to be able to take in more dogs and to treat more medical conditions and extensive injuries,” Hairy Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue wrote.
