Do you know what to do when you see a dog in need of assistance?

For those who have never been confronted with the situation before, it can be difficult when you find yourself there. You don’t want to frighten or injure the dog, but you don’t want to be bit by a scared pup or risk it running away before help arrives either. A successful rescue takes planning and a delicate hand.

When a stranger saw a pup cowering in a bush late in the evening, she desperately searched for a rescue that was still open. Hope for Paws was the only one she found who was available to help, and they came immediately!

Hope for Paws is a rescue in California whose videos we’ve shared before. They do fantastic work in their area, saving dogs in the street who have run off from their homes, been abandoned, or have never known a home.

The floppy-eared puppy in the bush, now named Fox, wasn’t what the rescuers expected – but they were happy to see him nonetheless! After a few careful pets and a little bit of cheeseburger, the Hope for Paws team was able to scoop him up and get him some help!

Fox had a microchip, but when his owner was contacted, she explained that he was a gift, and she didn’t really want him. It’s terrible to think that he may have been abandoned. (Reminder: pets are not gifts.)

With his adorable fluffy, floppy ears and big brown eyes, this guy is going to find himself a happy home and comfortable lap to claim as his own in no time. Learn more about Hope for Paws and the incredible work they do at their website, and follow their Facebook page for updates!
