Rescued from a dog fighting ring and placed into care at the San Bernardino animal shelter, Cruz suffered physical abuse and cruelty from human hands aside from his injuries owing to fighting violently with other dogs. Beyond the norm of neglect, this poor dog was in pretty bad shape, both physically and psychologically.
As with other victims of abuse, even if Cruz fully recovers physically, we can’t be certain if he will ever recover psychologically from the cruelty inflicted on him that’s why the help and care that volunteers like Maria gives; the amount of time taken to talk, to touch; just the amount of time spent with dogs like Cruz make a big difference. The big impact that kindness gives to anyone, even dogs, go a long way and you can tell that from Cruz’ reaction to Maria when she first reached out and petted him.
It is kindness of heart, time spent, patience and willingness to help Cruz that allowed him to recover and soon he was adopted and found his forever home. I can never understand why people can inflict so much cruelty and pain towards dogs but I am glad for rescue organizations and shelters that go out of their way to help dogs in need like Cruz. Please share this heartwarming video and let us continue to support them.
