Some are more likely to be lapdogs than others. I have three and only one is a total lapdog. My oldest, a spayed female soon to be 13, has always been lovable but too independent to be a lap dog. The neutered male (6) is also lovable and he will climb in your lap for a few minutes then heads for his favorite chair. My 3 year old show bitch is a total lap hound. As soon as I sit on the couch, she hops up and snuggles in my lap. She has always been this way. Wherever I am in the house, there is at least one and usually all three close by.
wrfrhiannonParticipantI have an un-spayed female and she does the same thing on walks. She’s “marking” like a male (twit!). She only does it on walks…. well, unless we’re at a show and then she’ll hold it forever! There is nothing wrong with her, she just wants others to know she’s been there. So they can read her “peemail.”
