Every time you purchase products from the iHeartDogs store, part of those earnings go to Greater Good Charities, an organization that helps animals in need. Through the organization’s GOODS Program, shelter dogs get food and other essential supplies. Many dogs are saved because of those donations, including an adorable pup named Zoey.

Zoey is one of hundreds of dogs and cats that the GOODS Program has assisted at Helping Paws Animal Rescue. She’s the victim of a tornado. This poor pup used to live with a family in a small town, but everything changed after the tornado hit on April 19th, 2023.

The tornado destroyed the family’s home, and they were forced to relocate. Sadly, Zoey got left behind during the chaos. She wandered the streets for about a week after, desperately searching for food. Then, a lady found the scared pup and brought her to the rescue.

Someone at the rescue contacted Zoey’s family, but they said they couldn’t take her back. So, the family asked Helping Paws Animal Rescue to care for her and help her find a new loving home.

Poor Zoey was very skinny and covered in wounds, but luckily, none of her injuries were too severe. The whole situation must have been scary and confusing for her, so the rescue vowed to keep her as happy and comfortable as possible.

Zoey’s Second Chance

Thanks to the food donations from Greater Good Charities, Zoey has gained some weight back since arriving at the rescue. Her wounds healed and her fur grew back in the places her injuries were. She’s now a happy, healthy girl who’s ready to search for a forever home.

“Without the GOODS Program, we wouldn’t be able to help so many dogs and cats. We would have to turn down a lot more animals because we couldn’t afford to feed them,” Helping Paws Animal Rescue wrote. “Thank you Greater Good Charities for helping us and all the other rescues.”
