Oh my Snickles, how you’ve grown from the last time I saw you! Who would ever think you’d get to be this big when the kids found you in a box, abandoned in that street off Main Avenue! Let Grandma sit down, dearie. It’s a long walk for an old lady like me to get to the living room.
Oh look at you, so sweet and loving; showering me with kisses! It’s one of the reasons why I love visiting here because you make me feel so needed. It’s been a loooong time since anybody needed me, you know. The kids have grown up and have kids of their own now and granddad, well he’s been gone for a long time now. Life can get lonely…
It’s so true what grandma said. Dogs do make us feel loved and needed and that’s so important for old people to feel. In their twilight years when everyone else are so busy to spend time with them, our dogs make up for our lack of time and attention for them.
