Anyone who’s ever lost a pet knows how difficult it is to say goodbye to your best friend, and how much you would give to snuggle with them just one last time. Turns out…you can?
A company called Cuddle Clones (nope – not making this up) is in the business of reuniting you with your beloved pet…sort of. Pet owners can send in a photograph of their cat, dog, hamster…chicken…and receive an alarmingly accurate plush toy version of them just a couple of weeks later in the mail.
Now, some grieving pet owners obviously use the service as a means of dealing with their loss – in fact, that’s how the company came to be, says founder Jennifer Graham, who was inspired during the difficult process of saying goodbye to her Great Dane in 2009.
But it isn’t only sad animal lovers who are giving this trend a try. As we see in the photos below, lots of pet parents just really want an inanimate version of their animal buddies…
Watch the clip to hear more about Jennifer’s story, then brace yourself for some serious doggie doppelgangers.
Okay so, that pug’s face (or…I guess both pugs’ faces!?) pretty much sums up my initial reaction to Cuddle Clones. But I don’t know…maybe I’m in the minority – fellow dog lovers, what do you think?
