It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, Kya adores her stuffed Santa Claus doll. The Shiba Inu carries her beloved Santa around the house with her wherever she goes and it’s clearly her favorite toy. When her two owners, siblings John and Angelina, heard about Santa taking photos at the local mall with pets, they knew they had to take Kya to meet him. They ended up spending $30 for the portrait of Kya and Santa, but the photo is absolutely worth it and they don’t regret it one bit!

“She just sat there and looked at him,” Angelina told Bored Panda. “[Kya] usually misbehaves when we take her to Petsmart, but she was behaving for Santa.” In fact, their other dog is usually the more social one, but she wanted nothing to do with meeting Santa. “Kya jumped right up on the chair next to Santa… it looked like she was smiling!” And truly she was. It’s almost as if Kya can’t believe that her little Santa doll turned into a real human.

Needless to say, her excitement quickly gained attention all over the internet. Dogs are so genuine with their emotions, it’s hard to deny Kya’s pure excitement and joy as she sits on Santa’s lap. We certainly love looking at these pictures! It’s probably safe to say that Kya is going to be visiting Santa every Christmas season now and sticking to her stuffed doll the rest of the year.
