There are times that we need to make very difficult decisions in life. This story contains a story where a man had a choice between his home or his dog. This is their story.
For a man, named Lewis Jiminez, he understands this lesson all too well. Lewis had no choice but to take his best friend, a Pit Bull named Titus, whom he adored, back to the shelter where he adopted him. Lewis wasn’t surrendering Titus or turning his back on him. This story isn’t about that at all!
Back when Titus was only 2 years old, Lewis came to the Austin, Texas shelter and fell in love with the handsome, sweet Pit Bull when he saw him playing in the yard, jumping about. He couldn’t resist the dog’s happy and sweet demeanor.
For the next 5 years, the duo was inseparable. They developed a deep bond that would last a lifetime. For Lewis, Titus was family. Lewis said, “He’s like my big old kid. He’s part of me.” But then the unthinkable happened. Something that forced the duo to separate.
Lewis was told he couldn’t keep Titus. The management company of his building told Lewis he had to get rid of his Pit Bull or he would be evicted. Lewis had nowhere else to go! And he had no friends or family who could take care of Titus until he found a new place to live. Lewis became desperate.
He had no choice but to bring Titus back to the shelter where he got him. This devastating decision broke Lewis’ heart. The shelter accepted Titus but they were pretty sure, like so many other people, that Lewis would drop Titus off and never return again. Technically the shelter doesn’t hold dogs because owners say they’ll be back all the time and don’t come back at all.
But this time was different. Lewis was unlike any dog owner they had met before.
Once at the shelter, Titus had a rough time immediately. Adjusting to the shelter was impossible for him; he was used to being in a loving home without the chaos. Without the incessant barking. Without the cold, concrete floors.
Shelter life is incredibly hard and Titus was miserable. He sat in his kennel most of the time, feeling downright depressed. The only upside to his days was when he could come out and play. Then Titus would run around happily. He was grateful to be out of his ‘cell.’
Lewis came to visit often and Titus would perk up. He was thrilled to see his dad but then the visit would have to come to an end and both Lewis and Titus were devastated all over again. Lewis cried every single time! But this made him even more determined to get a new home so he could get Titus out.
Then the miracle they had both been waiting for happened. Lewis found a new house! It was perfect. It had a nice big yard for Titus to run around in! Lewis went to the shelter to pick up his ‘son’ and the reunion was PERFECT! The tears flowed and Titus knew his dad was there to pick him up for good. The emotional embrace (after embrace) that came next was captured on camera.
Titus has the sweetest smile on his face as Lewis gives him the biggest hug. The shelter shared the photo on their Facebook page and it went viral. Their reunion was so amazing that the whole world cheered!
Lewis was so grateful to have his dog back. He also thanked the shelter workers over and over again for taking care of his baby; he knew that their kindness and love is what got Titus through the whole ordeal.
The shelter workers knew deep down that Lewis was always coming back for Titus despite the other times they witnessed the opposite from other dog owners. The duo is living a happy life again, together. And we couldn’t be happier for them!

A kind human made a difficult phone call to Hope for PAWS and told them about two homeless Pit Bulls they had been caring for near their home. They couldn’t adopt them because they had a little dog already and they didn’t want the dogs to be lonely or traumatized, so they called an animal lover automatically. The male is especially scared of humans, but with time the kind man gained his trust.
As helpers from Hope For Paws and the Good Samaritan approach the victimized dogs, their special canine ally comes closer and approaches them, fearless and unfazed. As she eats her human’s snacks she wags her tail happily. She knows people mean well. The male dog in the back is worried but he can’t help but be curious.
Being away from our pets is NO fun at all. Even when we have to go to work and it’s pretty routine. Man, I know I miss my babies so much! The hardest part is when they miss us too.
They look for us, sniff our spot on the bed, linger by the door. My dog stands up (she’s only 15 pounds!) and stretches her entire body so she can see out the window. Even though it’s not comfortable for her one bit, she doesn’t care. She wants to be the first one to see me so she can alert the household of my return. Their LOVE is like no other!
For Stanley, being away from mom is torture! So dad decides to give mom a call so “their son” can say “hi.” What ensues is absolutely ADORABLE! Mom just got the best treat of her day.

The heroes from Animal Aid arrived on the scene after a caring passerby called them. The man who phoned was on his way home from work when he heard the dog cry.
One rescuer brought some dog biscuits and put them by the puppy. When he tried to touch him through the bag, the puppy screamed. To see something so small and helpless in this much pain was heart wrenching.
When Sandy Hernandez’s two Siberian Huskies ran off, he was devastated. They climbed their yard’s fence and Hernandez spent the whole weekend looking for them, but without success. Miami-Dade Animal Services, on the other hand, found them on the streets with a trucker in his arms.
To highlight the importance of pet adoption, the Hernandez family decided to get their dogs, Chloe and Teddy, photographed. A man was thoughtful enough to take them to a shelter and reconnect them with their beloved family believing they were strays. That’s when the animal protection service director contacted Eduardo, informing him that they were already at their headquarters for adoption.
When Hernandez arrived, he noticed his two gorgeous pups posing for the camera. “That’s my dog, man! That’s my dog,” he howled as he ran up to the shoot sobbing. He immediately embraced his dogs, who were equally glad to see him again.
The pups, Ragnar, a 3-yr-old, and Kloud, an 11-month-old, have been reunited with their owner. To avoid situations like this in the future, Hernandez got both of them microchipped.

As we all know, we enjoy watching videos of dogs, cats and all animals that bring us joy. However, there are times when we need to get that word out for safety and bring awareness to help avoid future tragedies to our 4-legged friends.
This is the story about Petey. Please meet Christina Young who lost her best friend Petey and wanted to get the word out to other pet parents.
Christina said, ‘good bye’ to Petey, after a tragic accident took his life. She wanted other pet parents to know that this was preventable, and for most of us, “this accident” has already happened in our own homes.
She came home one day with the expectation of seeing a tail wagging Petey to a quiet house. Along with this quiet house, her somber boyfriend Christian had devastating news about their boy, Petey. Young posted this on her Facebook page:

We didn’t get here without great sacrifice and loss. And we honor our heroes every day with days filled with happiness and choices. We need to make their sacrifices worthwhile by recognizing the important duties of all those who fight for our freedoms. If you want to know how much we appreciate vets, one look at their partners in life, or “war dogs,” is enough evidence. “War Dogs” have been fighting alongside our soldiers for centuries and serve as essential members of regiments.

All Dogs definitely have their own unique personalities, and Stanley’s was apparent right from the beginning. This was something a little different though, and the quirks were a bit alarming. Stanley’s Mom and Dad adopted him but soon started to worry about their dog. Stanley, the Golden Retriever was very friendly, loving and physically healthy, but there was clearly much more to his story.
Stanley was rescued from the Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida and knowing he was a little different. When they got him from his foster home, he was sleeping on the table.
However, they quickly fell in love with Stanley despite his quirks and decided to take him home. Stanley got along with their kids and the other pets right away.
But the Stanley’s mom and dad became concerned about their new dog. They had success in the past training other dogs, but Stanley was different. They worried he may injure himself climbing onto counters and tables.
Stanley wasn’t deaf, but he never responded to his name being called. Two trainers were hired but eventually quit on him. And the one suggested the dog may be mentally challenged.
The family took this seriously and studied his behavior patterns even more. They discovered an obsessive-compulsive routine where Stanley would constantly gather a slipper, remote, and stuffed animal together every day.
They decided to test Stanley with a dog IQ test they heard about from a friend, and he failed at getting out from under a blanket, responding to his name, and finding the treat inside a cup.
It may never be revealed why exactly Stanley acts the way he does, but it’s not something for his family to worry about. He’s physically healthy and surrounded by lots of love!
His owner said, “He may be a bit slow, but his silly quirks, good nature, and odd little personality makes us love him even more.”
You have to love that Stanley is getting a fair shot at life regardless of his challenges. Every dog deserves love and happiness!
It’s not uncommon to read about stray dogs in bad shape, so when Sharon Bertozzi spotted a sick dog curled up on her porch for four hours, she shared the story with her friends.
However, the surprise came later on when she realized that this “dog” was not actually a dog at all.
Dogs are known to have an uncanny ability to sense when a new baby has arrived. Recent studies show that dogs can smell when a newborn is related to their human pack leader. This may be because dogs preferentially form bonds with people in charge of looking after them. Dogs naturally form attachments to the new baby, who they see as in higher position.
The bond between a baby and their pup is the sweetest thing there ever was! Dogs create memories that last forever – just check out this adorable video below! Thanks to canines like these, we get to witness such pure joy and love every day.

Every single day, deep down inside, there are things that remind us everything is going to be ok. This heartwarming story provides a small ray of light in our lives to show us that when all hope seems lost, there are still genuinely good people to be found in the world.
His stare is trancelike for good reason, this is the moment he waits for every day once his favorite boy leaves home in the early hours.
Dogs can sense time of day and are usually pretty accurate when it comes to a consistent routine. Once the sun hits a certain point, or a dog can sense enough time has passed, he or she will then take notice and get ready to respond appropriately.
However, this story isn’t about routine as much as it’s about love. We often wonder how anyone’s life can be totally full without a dog. Can they undoubtedly say they’ve experienced unconditional love in its truest form if they’ve never had a dog before?

Niya had a sad, unfair start in life. She was severely abused and then abandoned. Fortunately, she ended up in Gibson County Animal Shelter in Trenton, Tennessee. Though an animal shelter cafn be a scary place to find oneself, it beats being in a home with an abuser or starving on the streets.
Niya didn’t feel safe ever again. She was terrified of everything, including the noises she heard inside her home. It seemed that hope was lost. Thankfully, Kimberley Slown came into Niya’s life. Kimberley Slown is an angel who works with Arrow Dog Rescue to give dogs a second chance. With Miss Kimberley, hope is never lost!
The dog in this photo had a large gash above her eye and one on her nose. The one on her nose was most likely from a tin can being used as a muzzle meaning she spent time in someone’s home meaning she needs your help. This pup couldn’t care less that I was photographing her for this page since she is carrying around injuries that represent neglect.
As soon as she arrived at Slown’s house, she laid in a corner and went to sleep. She slept all day and night and when she woke up, she still wouldn’t move because she was too scared to interact with anyone.
“She just breathed into my hand and I woke up and immediately paid attention to her, petting her and talking to her,” Slown toldThe Dodo. ” She smiled and leaned in.”
After a few minutes, Niya walked away but then moments later, Niya came back and leaned inagainto thank her rescuer. “It was overwhelming. I was crying.” Slown recalled.
The dog that couldn’t trust a soul was beginning to see that there’s hope, that a good life is possible! And she knew exactly who to say “Thank you” to.
