Sounds like ours, “DIBS!” lol This picture was taken about 30 seconds after we got home from the shelter….

tygrhawkParticipantWhen we got our new rescue, I decided to get more informed about dog foods (starting right here). After looking at many many bags of many brands of dog food, I have started buying “Beyond”, which is a Purina product – but much better nutritionally than regular old “Dog Chow”. A 15 lb bag has cost me between $23 & $30 at a regularly grocery store.
Scooby seems to love it, and I feel better about giving him some healthier food.

tygrhawkParticipantAt only 6 months old, I’m thinking he will outgrow this way of getting attention. We had an Aussie Cattle Dog, loved everyone, & never bit anyone. But if there were kids over swimming, every time one would get out and run around the pool or head for the diving board, Rascal would nip at their heels. Only once did he actually leave a mark, one boy had a bruised heel. I just chalked it up to his herding instincts.

tygrhawkParticipantThank you Danielle. 🙂
tygrhawkParticipantWow, great story, adorable (and happy, I think) dog.

Every couple of months or so I hear reports of Sheriff’s Deputies discovering animal abuse cases, usually with dozens of dogs, cats, and sometimes other various creatures living in filth and just basically not being cared for at all.
If the application had mis-information on it ( “alternative facts”, anyone? lol ), and a vet has told you that you did nothing wrong, she probably doesn’t have a case. However, I hope that you managed to get some pictures in case you need a little more evidence.
Good luck, and may you never encounter that again.

I’m not really sure how big I am, but now if I “sit” on the couch when they’re sitting in the room, I’m taller than they are! Anyway, Mom came home soon after, and I tried to wag my tail. Dad made me swallow something I didn’t really like, but it helped get rid of the pain. I got used to eating those over the next couple of weeks, and was good about it. They DO really love me!Now, about 70 sunrises later, I’m all healed and very happy. I’m not sure if my tail ever stops wagging – sometimes I have to chase it, it’s teasing me so much! I love to play ball & go to the park. Mom and Dad were talking about me and something called “training classes”. I don’t know what that is, but I am curious about everyone and everything, and can’t wait to find out. They told me I might make some new friends!
In spite of all I’ve been through, I feel pretty lucky right now. I’m gonna like it here.
