Stray With Paralysis Slithered To Food When Woman Saw Him Suffering Alone

Homeless animals have enough to contend with. Finding adequate shelter, food, and clean water is challenging enough. Doing so is dangerous for healthy strays but imagine what it would be like for a dog that is paralyzed! It would be impossible. Yet a dog, later named Kuya Bon, fought to stay alive despite his disability. He was left all by himself when his owner deemed him useless after a car had hit him.

Kuya Bon’s callous owner couldn’t be bothered with a dog that needed so much care. He kicked him out of the only home he had ever known. By the time he was spotted by a kind individual, he had been on the streets for a very long time. He had to deal with so many rainy days, especially during the monsoon season. It’s a miracle he survived this long.

A kind woman saw the dog from afar and got a bowl of food for Kuya Bon. She went over to him and put the bowl down. She wanted to see how bad his legs were. Despite his struggles, Kuya Bon slithered to the bowl of food and ate happily. The woman knew he needed urgent veterinary care. She would spend her own money to help him.

While waiting for Kuya Bon to have x-rays done, the woman called a local rescuer. She begged for his help knowing she couldn’t keep Kuya Bon and he did not belong back out on the streets. The rescuer agreed. Kuya Bon is recovering as we speak at the vet clinic. It’s uncertain where he will end up but what IS FOR SURE is that he will never be back out on the streets again! In the stillness of the early morning around 2:00 AM, a remarkable event took place that proved just how loyal and intuitive dogs can be. Dory, a St. Bernard with a strong protective instinct, suddenly began behaving in a way that startled her family. She paced restlessly, whined with urgency, and refused to settle down. Her agitation was unlike anything they had seen before, almost as if she was desperately trying to deliver an important message.

Her persistence soon became impossible to ignore. As her family lay awake, it became clear that Dory’s distress was not random, something serious was happening. Within moments, they realized what she had been trying to communicate: their house was on fire. Dory’s warning gave her family the precious time they needed to act quickly and escape the danger before it was too late.

The family’s cats, stirred by Dory’s alarm, began meowing anxiously as well, adding to the urgency of the moment. It was then that Dory’s dad, Jack, got out of bed to investigate. What he saw left him shaken, the fire had already taken hold, posing a life-threatening situation. Thanks to Dory’s determination, however, he was able to wake everyone and get them to safety.

Grateful beyond words, Jack later admitted he doesn’t even want to imagine what might have happened had Dory not raised the alarm. To show his appreciation for his heroic companion, he treated her to a well-deserved steak, a small reward for the big role she played in saving their lives.

Her alertness in the face of danger not only protected her family but also demonstrated the deep bond between pets and their humans. Family Adopts Foster Dog Even When Vet Cautioned That He’s Mentally Challenged

All Dogs definitely have their own unique personalities, and Stanley’s was apparent right from the beginning. This was something a little different though, and the quirks were a bit alarming. Stanley’s Mom and Dad adopted him but soon started to worry about their dog. Stanley, the Golden Retriever was very friendly, loving and physically healthy, but there was clearly much more to his story.

Stanley was rescued from the Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida and knowing he was a little different. When they got him from his foster home, he was sleeping on the table.

However, they quickly fell in love with Stanley despite his quirks and decided to take him home. Stanley got along with their kids and the other pets right away.

But the Stanley’s mom and dad became concerned about their new dog. They had success in the past training other dogs, but Stanley was different. They worried he may injure himself climbing onto counters and tables.

Stanley wasn’t deaf, but he never responded to his name being called. Two trainers were hired but eventually quit on him. And the one suggested the dog may be mentally challenged.

The family took this seriously and studied his behavior patterns even more. They discovered an obsessive-compulsive routine where Stanley would constantly gather a slipper, remote, and stuffed animal together every day.

They decided to test Stanley with a dog IQ test they heard about from a friend, and he failed at getting out from under a blanket, responding to his name, and finding the treat inside a cup.

The vet agreed with the assessment and said that the dog’s challenges could be a result of inbreeding and stubbornness.

It may never be revealed why exactly Stanley acts the way he does, but it’s not something for his family to worry about. He’s physically healthy and surrounded by lots of love!

His owner said, “He may be a bit slow, but his silly quirks, good nature, and odd little personality makes us love him even more.”

You have to love that Stanley is getting a fair shot at life regardless of his challenges. Every dog deserves love and happiness!
