I’m cursed with one of those faces. You know, the kind where people are always asking me “are you okay?” when I’m expressionless. Telling people over and over again “I’m fine, my face just looks like this” gets pretty old. One English Bulldog with an impressive set of “eyebrows” probably knows this more than anybody.
The Bulldog goes by Madam Eyebrows, and it’s pretty clear to see why. She has two thick brown patches of fur above her eyes. They really stand out against her otherwise white face. They also give her a permanently morose expression.
These brows combined with her droopy mouth make her look so sad all the time. But if she could tell you herself, she really isn’t. That’s just the way her face looks, okay??
On her Instagram page, you can see her in many situations where her apparent mood seems to make sense. For example: when costumed this way.
But the person this pup belongs to assures us she’s the happiest girl in real life. Janina told The Dodo:
“In real life, you have to see her only a few minutes and you see that she is happy. We don’t see only her sad face. We see how funny she is! And how much love she gives to us.”
Plus, the girl gets loved and spoiled. She’s got every reason to smile – if only she could!
No matter what she feels like on the inside, Madam Eyebrows will always look like someone just told her the kitchen is out of the thing she ordered!
Born This Way
As a much smaller puppy, you might not have guessed Madam would grow into her look this way. She grew up with her humans and another dog in Germany.
Pretty soon Madam’s distinctive sad look appeared. Still, her demeanor suggests quite the opposite, Janina said.
“She is very happy. She wiggles her tail, gives kisses.”
From certain angles, you can get a clearer sense of who the real Madam Eyebrows is. Like this one, where she has momentum on her side.
But why not learn to embrace the way you look? Especially when that strong brand gets you 138,000 Instagram followers!
