Anonymous Man Saves Battered Puppy & Finally Comes Forward To Collect His ‘Reward’

We live in a world full of people. Some are good and some people have no empathy or compassion. The article starts off with a story about a callous employee that fired a person that needed the job to care for the patient who shared their heart problem with them over coffee.

Crossing a bridge on an ordinary evening, Bob Hoelter heard whimpering sounds. Listening more closely, he realized the cries sounded desperate and decided to go under the bridge to try and find the source of these cries.

A distressed pup was found. The worst part, his mouth was taped shut.

Bob found an innocent, duct-taped puppy thrown from a bridge. After seeking emergency help at Griffith Animal Hospital, the pup received treatment for damaged skin and tissue caused by duct tape, pain medication, and antibiotics.

They then treated him for a broken leg. He would need surgery for that.

They set him up in a nice kennel with a cozy bed. The story of the puppy went viral. When Bob dropped the pup off, he never gave the vet staff his name. He was just focused on getting the little guy help and the staff was focused on saving his life. The puppy found a forever home but everyone was wondering if Bob would ever come forward.

Bob is a hero, who knows this because a family member was browsing social media when he saw a story about his actions.

Bob decided to go visit Louie, his best buddy’s puppy that he rescued. Louie was scared at first but then showed that he’s got an enormous heart when Bob saved his life.

When Louie saw Bob, the pup could not stop thanking him by giving hugs and kisses!

Abandoned Dog With 46-Lb Tumor Finally Had Heavy Burden Lifted Off His Shoulders

As if homeless dogs don’t already have it bad enough, one was abandoned at a beach in Newport, California with an extra 46 pounds of weight due to a tumor on his side.

Stray dogs that find their way onto the beach can often end up lost. However, this dog, Henry, needed to be rescued earlier than expected. AsValerie Schomburg of Newport Beach Animal Control points out, “The rescuers from NBAC are used to picking up stray dogs in poor condition, but nothing could have prepared them for what Henry looked like” She continues on to say that he needed medical attention as soon as possible.

Not only did he struggle to find food, but he had difficulty getting around. His right front leg was so big and hindering on him so bad because of the tumor in there that it pushed him down and gave him a hard time walking.

Henry, a rescue dog, had barely started his new life when he fell victim to poisoning. The only puppy born of the litter, Henry arrived at his adoptive foster after having contracted Parvo Chicken Pox Virus. A few months later, young Henry was diagnosed with Leukemia. Despite all of the hardships that Henry has faced in such a short period of time, he still had a zest for life. He was always smiling and wagging his tail and little Henry loved every person he met.

In a sad twist of irony, Tina’s son Henry needed a crowdfunding campaign started by Jamie Schomburg. Oddly enough, the tumor that caused the fundraiser wound up being cancerous. fortunately though, it did not spread to any other parts of his body.

Henry had a huge weight lifted off his shoulders-literally. After undergoing surgery for a brain tumor, Henry’s weight dropped from 200lbs to 78lbs, and he could walk almost completely normally. The tumor was removed not long ago, and luckily Henry found a loving foster family through the Newport Beach Animal shelter after going through a lot of pain.

After Henry relieved his story, he became a celebrity as the media picked up his story. People from all over the world sent him gifts and treats to thank him for touching their heart with his story.

The late Henry found love near the end. His time on Earth was mainly defined by pure enthusiasm for life, which he had carried with him in his tail and smile, and when Henry died peacefully in his sleep, he left his loving family to press onwards.

After the passing of Henry, investigators were able to find his previous owner, who was subsequently charged by the OC District Attorney’s Office and is still facing trial.

Bloodhound Picks Up Missing Child’s Scent From Over 1.5 Miles Away

When it comes to finding missing people, we mere humans sometimes have to hand it over to highly trained, super-smeller search dogs. Depending on the breed, a dog’s sense of smell typically ranges from 10,000 to 100,000 times stronger than ours. This superior nose allows them to locate objects and people from far distances and pick up on even subtle scents. It’s also why so many dogs work with police departments and security teams. “Aggressive” Dog Melted Into Rescuer’s Hands When He Knows He’s Finally Safe

The police received a call from some good Samaritans regarding a dog who they believed was being mistreated in Greece.

When cops arrived, they found a dog who seemed to be aggressive, but learned that he had spent his entire life on a chain and had a very a violent owner.

Theoklitos Proestakis, who runs Takis Shelter on the island of Crete, agreed to take in the aggressive dog. He is known for having a special knack of getting aggressive and scared dogs to become calm and trusting.

At first, this ‘aggressive’ dog, named Phoenix, did not want anyone to touch him. He flashed his teeth and would snap anytime anyone came near. But Takis refused to give up on him.

Phoenix was terrified, and all he was used to was getting abused his whole life, so he thought that every human would do the same things his mean owner did. Violence was all he knew and he was just trying to defend himself, like he’s had to do so many times.

Takis used a glove to pet Phoenix with, and wanted to show him what gentle human touch was and that he wasn’t going to get hurt ever again. Phoenix was still nervous and continued to snap at Takis.

“We will try later again and we will be very good friends soon,” Takis said to Phoenix.

Phoenix seemed like he was a far cry from being friendly and accepting of human touch, but Takis was right. He was able to gain Phoenix’s trust!

Once Phoenix got a taste of gentle affection, he loved it. He finally gave in and rested his face in Takis’ glove. Now he couldn’t get enough attention.

This just goes to show that Phoenix was never the “aggressive” dog that he appeared to be. He was just a dog who was trying to protect himself from his abusive owner.

The couple acted fast. They called for help and a rescue team arrived to search the nearby woods for the emaciated white dog. Finally, his little head popped up! Billy was immediately rushed to the vet. The poor dog was starved and dehydrated. He was so frail, merely skin and bones.

Krista and Bill waited at the vet. As Krista explains in the video below, she fell in love with Billy instantly. The look in his eyes, the pain he was feeling, everything that made him continue to fight connected her to him for life.

Billy was so hungry. He wanted to eat everything in sight. The medical staff knew that eating would have to be gradual if he wanted to keep things down. No one was sure he’d survive but he surely had a lot of cheerleaders rooting him on.

However, by the next day things were looking up. Billy was fighting hard and IV fluids and nutrition were helping. He was able to move about easier. His lethargy was certainly improving. The only downside was that his medical bills were piling up. The couple was overwhelmed. That is when the “Saving Billy” fundraiser was established.

Billy soon got better and was able to leave the vet. Krista, who had been fostering Billy, knew she wanted to be his foster mom. Bill, her husband, didn’t want her to, but it was too late. Krista and Billy had that instant connection, and no one could stop them now.

Billy was thrilled to leave the vet, but he needed a lot of help adjusting to life as a pet. He had special needs and his physiotherapy costs were high. But Krista never stopped caring for him.

As days came and went, Billy put on weight and started feeling right at home. He had new doggy siblings too! One doggy brother, Remington, and Billy became inseparable.

Seeing Billy on this journey only reaffirmed what Krista felt in her heart, this dog belonged with them forever. It was then Billy officially became a “foster fail.”

All The Animals Were Adopted One By One ‘Til He Was The Only One Who Remained

Capone is a senior Pit Bull. He has been waiting for a forever home. His shelter mates have all found homes, but Capone was either ignored or put back in his kennel after a brief meeting with staff and volunteers. They knew he deserved to find his forever home and make it out of the shelter alive.’

Image Source Credit: Ionia County Animal Shelter/Facebook

It broke the shelter team’s heart: “For quite some time Capone was the only dog we had in the shelter,” Carly Quinn, the director of the Ionia County Animal Shelter, told The Dodo. “All the kennels were empty, except for sweet, quiet, kind Capone.”

Capone was adopted from the shelter but returned after he began fighting with another dog at his new home. Capone became very depressed and stopped eating.

Image Source Credit: Ionia County Animal Shelter/Facebook

“He lost quite a bit of weight as he just did not have the appetite he did in his home,” Quinn noted. “It was very hard to get him to eat. We had to coax him daily with treats and assorted wet foods.”

Everybody could see that he lost a piece of himself and just lost his appetite.

Image Source Credit: Ionia County Animal Shelter/Facebook

“He was heartbroken,” Quinn said, “and anyone who has felt true heartbreak understands how proper diet takes the back seat.”

Having been adopted and then returned to the shelter changed Capone. “The Capone we met in 2017 and the Capone wet met in 2018 were two different dogs,” said NSC Director Jon Peddie. ” Quinn said. “After he was surrendered the second time, it seemed like he picked and chose his friends as if he truly felt betrayed. He became very attached to us shelter staff.”

“He is a ‘velcro dog,’” Quinn added. “A dog who loves to be right next to you, always touching you.”

Image Source Credit: Ionia County Animal Shelter/Facebook

Quinn checked their Facebook page and saw a message from a couple interested in Capone. “They had fallen in love with his pictures and his story,” Quinn said. “[When] they came into our shelter later that day, they had already gone to the pet store and made him a custom name tag with his name and their information.”

The staff at the shelter only wanted Capone to be adopted out to a home where he was the only dog. This proved more challenging than they thought it would be.

The staff of a shelter in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, shared a photo of Capone on their Facebook page. They hoped that someone would see him and adopt him. They were even more determined to get Capone placed after the shelter had to relocate due to construction work. He did not deserve to be left behind especially when he was so lovable and playful.

Quinn checked their Facebook page and saw a message from a couple interested in Capone. “They had fallen in love with his pictures and his story,” Quinn said. “[When] they came into our shelter later that day, they had already gone to the pet store and made him a custom name tag with his name and their information.”

But everyone was so nervous! Since his second surrender, Capone had become quite picky about who he liked and who he preferred to stay away from. What if he didn’t like his new potential parents?

Quinn practically held her breath. She walked Capone over to meet the couple with her fingers crossed. Quinn said, “As I walked into the lobby with Capone, he stopped and looked at Jon and Ashlee for a while. They both knelt down and Capone ran right into their arms.”

“It was truly a tearjerker,” Quinn added.

Even when Capone left, the staff was a mess. They were so nervous he would come back. But as time went on, and the staff checked in on Capone, they realized he DID get his happily ever after. Just look at him in his new home with that peaceful sleepy smile

“Look at that smile,” shelter volunteer Sammie Vincent wrote on Facebook. “Us shelter staff actually cried tears of joy for Capone.”

Abandoned Dog Crying On Side of The Road Just Wants To Kiss Her Rescuer

Judy Obregon, who leads rescue organization The Abandoned Ones (TAO), often frequents the grim roads near a dumping ground around Echo Lake Park in Texas. She skillfully spots live animals among the decomposing bodies and brings them to the shelter.

When she finally arrived home, Judy took the puppy to the vet. She was so scared that she wagged her tail when she saw the doctor and gave him kisses. The doctor said that her wounds were healing, but it would take a while before they healed completely. He gave her some medicine and set up an appointment for two weeks later.

Judy noticed that the pup, now called Callie, had a string around her neck. Judy realized that the string was part of a toy that had broken off in Callie’s attempts to break free. The other part of the string was still in the same fence where she was waiting. Poor pup! She didn’t move from her spot and hoping that a familiar person would come looking for her.

Relieved at being rescued from such a decay, Callie gave Judy a very sweet kiss on the cheek! She was taken to the vet’s where she whined when touched and was found without a microchip. She seemed considerably healthy even after going through such a nightmare.

Callie is recovering well from the time she spent in the shelter. She has developed a healthy appetite and emotionally recovered from being abandoned. Judy finds that dogs like Callie are always eager to forgive.

Within two days of being rescued, Callie was up and walking on her own. She had a big smile on her face, showing she was happy to be alive. Her past is behind her and soon she will be up for adoption. She deserves the happy ending that we hope comes her way!

Hedgie had a rough start in life. His first owners tied him up outside as a puppy and never showed him affection. The poor dog was scared of everyone and everything when he was finally adopted and taken home by his new family. He just hid under the table.

One night, Mason’s dog, Hedgie, wouldn’t stop barking. That’s when Mason decided to bring the dog up to his room for the night. The next morning, when Mason went downstairs, he was surprised by what he saw: Hedgie was a completely different dog! The two of them became inseparable friends who did everything together.

But one day, Hedgie started having trouble walking and eating. He was taken to the vet where they diagnosed him with megaesophagus, but putting him down was not an option for this family. Instead, they would feed him in a special chair.

Aside from his disorder, the family knew the dog was healthy and had lots of life left to live.

Animal Aid arrived to find a puppy lying in an alleyway. His face was swollen and caked with blood. What had happened to this poor pooch? Amazingly, despite the pain, the puppy wagged his tail as he calmly greeted his new human friends.

One of the rescue workers scooped up the puppy and put him in his car. He drove to the Animal Aid sanctuary so he could receive medical care. The workers assessed him and found that an infection caused fluid to build up beneath his skin. This is why his little face was so swollen.

When the volunteers clean off his face, they realize that the reason for all this was just a tiny wound. This proves that infection can easily happen if an animal is not kept clean and under observation. But it’s okay now. The volunteers are going to make sure he recovers.

Topical and oral antibiotics treat the puppy’s skin infection. The next day, he can eat again. His face looks so much better already. He loves to be held, and he knows that humans are kind!

“Take me home. I’m a great dog. I’m 7 years old. Don’t let my size scare you. I’m sweet.”

The gentle giant remained motionless as Eric approached the other two dogs. She was a wonderful companion and a lovely friend.

On Facebook, a dog walker inquired about what to do if he found a solitary dog in Prospect Park. People responded with ideas of what to do just a few minutes later.

To improve his image, Eric posted a photo of Mamas on a neighborhood Facebook group seeking assistance. And within minutes, responses began to pour in! One Good Samaritan requested that they be picked up outside the park and taken to Sean Casey Animal Rescue in a car. There was a kennel at the animal shelter.

Mamas and the baby girl were walking out of the park when Mamas could not walk at a normal speed. She was sluggish owing to her size and a possible bladder infection. She was taken in for transport back to return for medical treatment, where she eventually relaxed!

Mama must stay through the stray hold period, but after that she will be put up for adoption and given her forever home!

Mamas, on the other hand, is overjoyed to be out of the park and among people who adore and care for her. Whoever adopts this lovely girl will be extremely fortunate!

Dog Cried All Night As No One Picks Her, Shelter Posts Her Photo As A Last Resort

High Plains Humane Society (HPHS) of New Mexico has a long history of caring for stray and rescue dogs. They photograph the shelter dogs on a regular basis in order to enhance their visibility among pet owners.

The volunteers of HPHS visited an associate shelter and captured the photo of a devastated puppy on one of their trips. The photograph shows the puppy, who appears to be looking through her cage toward someone who will rescue her and give her a wonderful home.

The hearts of pet lovers all over the world were broken when HPHS posted this photo on social media. People poured in with adoption requests after seeing the dog’s sad, defeated eyes.

Doug Delony posted to Facebook saying: “Most afternoons I take a run through Discovery Green, and most afternoons I see this guy with a stroller but no baby. He brings this beautiful… what appears to be… disabled pup to the park. He lets it sit in the grass and take in the smell and the sound. Here he is giving it water out of a small cup he brings with him. An adorable dog and a nice guy- God bless ’em.”

The man’s devotion to and care for his blind dog has restored my faith in humanity.

“He’s part of our family,” said Edie Mayo of 16-year-old Max. “He’s my best friend. He’s taught me life lessons that I will never forget.”
