Many dogs are placed in high-kill shelters every day with little hope for adoption, so Tracy Whyatt stepped in and decided to do something to help. Tracy followed her passion for saving unloved dogs and started a company called Tracy’s Dogs.
Tracy and her husband, Scott, load up dogs from overcrowded kill shelters into a 32-foot trailer and drive them to other states to find them forever homes. They’ve partnered up with PetSmart as a meeting place for the dogs and their new owners.
As you can imagine, the moment the owners see their new dogs for the first time is beautiful and emotional. Everyone gathers around the trailer as the door swings open, and the tears begin to flow. Welcome to your new lives, pups! 🙂
Since starting their company in 2011, Tracy and Scott have adopted out over 3,700 dogs! If it weren’t for them, most of these dogs would not have survived. They have a wonderful thing going here, and Tracy’s Dogs deserves all the recognition they can get!

It’s a nice, sunny day and all Max the Great Dane wants to do is jump into the pool and have a refreshing swim. But mom isn’t having it!
Sadly, his human isn’t approving swim time. Wanting to swim badly, this big guy starts whining ever so softly, but in no time it turns into some very loud whimpering. Just like a kid who’s being denied his favorite candy.
To top it off, Max is also deaf. It’s brilliant how he can lip read and understand hand gestures from his owner. He usually has no problems agreeing with his mom, but right now, he is just downright disappointed because he is not allowed into the pool!
He even walks to the edge of the pool and tries to dip just one paw into the water, as if to test the temperature (and his mom!). But he decides otherwise and continues his whining which has now become very persistent, showing how annoyed he is with his mom.
When Rosie, a Golden Retriever mix, arrived at the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, dumped and heavily pregnant, shelter heads Katie and John Black, immediately began tending to the abandoned, homeless dog.
The staff had taken care of their fair share of pregnant dogs in the past, but when Rosie gave birth, it was clear that she was going to be a special case, as Rosie’s 4 healthy Pups looked nothing like her.
Unlike the gold-coated mama Rosie, the puppies were a spotty lot. The black and brown marks on their white fur made them eerily resemble a bunch of tiny baby cows! Fittingly, they were given the bovine names of Daisy, Clarabelle, Betsy, and Moo.
Cross-breeding often leads to striking differences in features of the puppies, but in Rosie’s case, the absolute lack of similarity was remarkable. But that didn’t affect Rosie’s love for her sweet pups even by a tiny bit!
Today, Rosie and all her babies have been adopted into loving homes. We are so thankful to Katie and John for their sincere efforts towards caring for the litter and finding them the best homes!
“Go in your house” is a phrase that has been said to Brian, a gorgeous Siberian Husky with distinctive deep blue eyes. However, Brian is not in the mood to go back to his doghouse right now; as a result, he responds loudly and unequivocally: “No!”
Siberian Huskies are known to be one of the most vocal breeds in the canine world, and it’s easy to see why when you consider how they must ply their trade in hostile environments like Siberia. They’ll receive a brief trip to the “doghouse,” but Brian, the chatty Husky, is clear that he won’t be leaving right away!

For years, a Golden Retriever endured the hellish clutches of abuse from his owners. He was often beaten up, chained without food, and his muzzle taped shut. The neighbors’ patience wore thin as they witnessed the dog slowly slip away into depression.
One day, the dog barked hysterically, then started lying motionless on the cold concrete. The neighbors knew that at this rate, the dog would soon be dead. They took the bold decision to break into the dog’s yard.
They hopped over the fence, unchained the dog and brought him home. They called him Alfie. The couple were aware that the extreme abuse had left Alfie vulnerable and sensitive. They treated him with extra patience and love and waited for him to recover from his traumatic experiences.
Soon, Alfie came to trust his new parents. He became the life and soul of the house with his happy prancing and joyful smiles. He would go on picnics on the beach and dance around the family during all celebrations.
He even got his own chew toy, most likely the first one he ever had. Alfie’s transformation is unbelievable as he looks like the happiest pup in the whole world. We hope more and more people take an inspiration from this and stop being silent observers of abuse.

Curiosity got the best of one woman, who discovered a cracked bird egg on the ground. She picked it up, only to discover a surprise inside. A tiny newborn Starlet was found within the egg, which was still alive and barely clinging to life.
Susan had no means of returning the egg to its nest because she didn’t know where it came from. She decided to give the little bird a chance and care for him herself. Even though experienced bird rehabilitation experts advised her that the bird had little hope of long-term survival, she felt compelled to at least try.
She named the bird Klanger and set him in a cardboard box that she had built. She began feeding him cat food with applesauce, hard-boiled egg, and avian supplements. She fed him every 20-30 minutes for two weeks, and he never went hungry.
Klinger slowly began putting on weight and started getting fuzzier. His feathers started growing too. Before they knew it, he grew into a beautiful bird with a body full of feathers. He is, for all intents and purposes, a domestic bird now, as he has no training on how to be a wild bird.
Klinger loves taking baths and playing with his toys. He’s even learning how to speak! Susan posted this video on his first birthday to celebrate his life so far.

Recently, Matt Bentley found himself in an invasive situation. After catching wind of a dog trap call, he went out looking for the dog with the hope of setting it free. When he found her running on a deserted trail in Salt Flats, he realized just how dire the situation was—she was weak from hunger and nearly hairless from scraping against rough rocks for refuge from dust storms.
When Matt drove her to the Utah Animal Adoption Center, he pleaded with them to take her. They quickly agreed. This poor dog needed extensive medical treatment. Quickly, a woman named Jamie heard about the “doggy warrior” and wanted to donate money to help the dog through the rough road ahead. Jamie also gave the sweet dog a name: Kelly.
Kelly was so friendly. Upon meeting Jamie for the first time, she came right up to Jamie, wagging her tail and wanting to be pet. The instant bond Jamie felt was evident! Despite the pain she must have been in and whatever past trauma she was working through, Kelly made the best of it and put forth a positive attitude for everyone’s sake.
Angel the Greyhound mix has lived under the trauma of abuse – until now. Angel was rescued from an animal organization in Ireland, living in fear of what would happen next.
Poor Angel had been abused psychologically and survived the harsh realities of life on the streets. Although she resisted psychological help, her emotional pain had to heal somehow. One day, she turned around and faced her fears; all thanks to inspiration from a service animal that had treated her with kindness.
A recent PAWS Animal Rescue Ireland rescue became excited when they discovered another dog had arrived. It turned out it wasn’t her brother, but seeing another dog had perked the little pup up.
Angel’s personality changed and she became a new dog over a short six months after being rescued from being abandoned by her previous owner, Susan.

The puppy had been brutally attacked by an animal, pushed off a drain ditch, or even lost her footing and they weren’t able to move or tended to. The puppy filled my chest with sadness as I watched her lay there in excruciating pain, unable to move from the sight of so much blood.
When they tried to move her, she screamed in agony. They rushed her to their sanctuary where they immediately gave her pain medication so she would stop suffering.
Once the puppy calmed down, she could be properly assessed. But as soon as the vet tried to stand her up, she screamed again as if she had no pain medication at all. Poor baby! She needed a tender touch and lots of TLC.
The doctor flushed her neck wound out and treated it so infection wouldn’t set it. Her neck was then bandaged properly. She looked so tiny, lying on the giant table.
This is the story of a dog, Bjarni, who was rescued from a difficult home with a disfigured face. Despite being ignored by passersby at first, those who one who found this dog’s story saw it as a worthy cause to support. There seems to be no immediate danger to the dog as he is cared for in a foster family before being adopted out into his forever home.
Bjarni had half a nose and many bite scars, likely from an attack by another animal. He was struggling to eat and breathe. When tracked down, his owners refused to take him back, even when told of possibility he could be euthanized.
St. Francis’ Angels, an emergency foster-home organization in Houston, Texas is one of the few organizations that will take ill pets off the streets so they can get help before they’re surrendered to a shelter. One weekend earlier this month, founder Annie Graber took in a pit bull who had hydrocephalus and other health problems.
After surgery, Bjarni’s face is completely re-aligned and he can breathe and eat properly! Despite having harsh experiences, Bjarni is the friendliest dog in the shelter.“Vivacious and engaging. He is totally unaware of his limitations and disfigurement,”Annetold the Huffington Post.
Update:We’re happy to say that Bjarni has found a nice forever home with a family that is accepting of him and is filled with love! He began his new life with a new name ‘Hogan’.

The Humane Society of the United States has shut down 13 South Korean dog meat farms, and they don’t plan on stopping until every single one no longer exists.
Dogs at these meat farms are confined to tiny metal cages with no source of comfort whatsoever. They have little to no food or water, and are forced to live amongst their feces and filth.
All of them are neglected and don’t receive medical care, which leads to most of them becoming very ill. The ones who survive these deplorable conditions are then sent off to be slaughtered for meat consumption. Regardless, these dogs don’t make it out alive.
Thankfully, organizations like HSUS, are working hard to rescue as many of these dogs as possible. andie was one of 200+ dogs that HSUS saved from their 13th South Korean dog meat farm that they shut down.
She was living in a wire cage, lonely and scared, yet was still so sweet toward her rescuers. As soon as they approached her, she gave them her paw as if she was saying ‘thank you.’
She has since been adopted and is now living with her new loving family in the United Kingdom, where she also has a doggy sibling to play with and bunny.
The story of two vulnerable, sweet puppies begins with them huddled together for comfort. They were left in the shelter without anyone to watch over, based on the assumption that no one would want them. Luckily, things changed when a worker received a call about their cries and no one wanted any harm to come to them.
A volunteer decides to get vitamin and mange shots for his car. This will help the puppies with lethargy and discomfort, as well as the itch from the mange. The puppies are unhappy about being shot but it will allow them to feel better. Just like our kids need to get vaccines, these puppies will have to endure some pain in order to feel better.
The puppies are soothed with lots of pets and kind words. The puppies can rest now. The next day, the puppies have ticks on them. With a lack of resources, the open shelter that’s exposed to the elements, is always a challenge. The ticks are treated next. He also gives the puppies some extra vitamins in their water.
In just a few days, the painful mange treatment is working. The puppies hate it but you can already see such a difference. The sores are drying out! Since they’re not as itchy, the puppies can finally relax and eat. They meet all sorts of new friends at the shelter. They’re growing so much by the day and are nice and healthy.

Animal abuse is hard to stomach, but it happens all around the world. Cruelty and neglect are not uncommon, despite how people treat animals differently in different places. Many who intentionally abuse animals are men under 30.
Animal hoarding creates victims among both humans and animals. So what do you think is the appropriate solution for a woman who is under 30 but also neglected her dog, leaving him severely malnourished? Enter Judge Michael Cicconetti, who believes in one solution for everyone – don’t commit the crime, imprison the criminal.
Judge “Chick” is seeing 40 cases a day, but there’s something about his sentencing that makes him special. “When you talk about State prisons and Federal prisons, their problems started way back here, in municipal court, with minor offenses,” he says. “We have to stop them from going further, at the beginning stages.” The judge comes up with innovative punishments so that criminals don’t forget the crime they committed.
That led us to Alyssa Morrow who has a 7-year-old pit bull mix. Judge Chick is an animal lover, and he was sick to his stomach when he saw the shape Morrow’s dog, Moose, was in.
Animal Control found the dog in a house full of clutter and Morrow insists she left him in there for only one week. That being said, Judge Moss decided to let Morrow have a little taste of what Moose underwent. After describing just how Moose must have felt, the judge decided to let Morrow have a little taste of what Moose underwent. In order to complete her 10 year probation sentence for animal neglect, she was sentenced to weekly calls with a therapist that specializes in animal behavioral issues.
He sentenced her to picking up trash at the county dump for eight hours the next day. He wanted her in the stinkiest, more sickening place the dump could provide, so she’d remember Moose’s plight.
When she showed up, though—judging by her dress and shoes—she wasn’t taking the punishment very seriously. But for the next 8 hours, she picked up filth, experiencing for one day what Moose had undergone for a week.
The good news is that Moose is doing great and is now up for adoption. We can only hope that Morrow has learned her lesson.

I’ve never met anyone who didn’t find farts to the face funny. But what about baby farts? No one likes it when babies let off gas, but at least then, their diapers create a buffer zone that softens the impact. 🙂

Hope For Paws recently received a call about an animal in need of urgent care. The homeless dog was located near the Mexico border and it needed medical care.
When rescuers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the man who called them and learned that the homeless dog had taken a liking to the man’s dogs. Rescuers saw it was clear this pup needed a lot more than just food.
When rescuers coaxed Pax with food before slapping a leash around him, the sweet pup let them pick him up and put him in their car without resistance. He was relieved to be out of harm’s way after he patiently waited for his rescue.
They took him to the animal hospital, where he was treated for his skin, ear and eye infections, mange, and open wounds.
